These are really three different neighborhoods within this section of the city. South of Yale, west of Colorado, north of Hampden, and east of University – the bulk of this area is characterized by Denver Public Schools’ Slavens K-8 school. Although a small section of Cherry Hills Heights is technically Englewood, and feeds the Cherry Creek School District. Southern Hills is mostly ranch style homes on larger lots, with just a few multi-storied homes. Wellshire Hills has some similar properties, but also has many blocks with smaller, old frame style housing. Some of these older homes have begun to be torn down and re-built. This is also the southern edge of Denver – with Cherry Hills Village/Englewood in Arapahoe County to the south of Hampden.
